Translation Services Australia

With Australia a melting polt of hundreds of different cultures it makes sense that you will need to engage a translation services provider whether it's for a one-off translation or as an ongoing service for your customers.

Most translation services can be conducted remotely either over the phone, or via text/email, live chat, video etc. so it doesn't matter whether you are in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth etc it is easy to engage an interpreter to help you with your translations.

What type of translation services are available?

Voice translation is still the most popular translation service where you can engage another organisation who acts as an intermediary between you and the customer. The translators are bi-lingual enabling them to communicate to both parties.

But as well as voice translations services, translation service providers in Australia can also involve document translations such as legal documents, medical reports, application forms, police reports, bank statements, websites, citizenship papers, bank statements and a whole lot more.

How are translation services performed?

The most common form is using a translator (a live person!) who is skilled in both languages (and often more than one language) who can conduct the translations whether its by voice or written format.

But with the advent of technology, a number of artificial intelligence solutions (AI) are emerging that can provide highly accurate translations.

Are there any industry standards?

Yes. NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) is the national standards and certifying authority for translators and interpreters in Australia. It is the only organisation to issue certification to practitioners who wish to work in this profession in Australia.

NAATI is a not for profit company that is jointly owned by the Commonwealth, State and Territory governments. They are governed by a Board of Directors, who are appointed by the owners.

More businesses are starting to realise the benefits of providing multi-lingual solutions for their customers.

Why? Because it makes things easier for their customers and this has a direct correlation to increased spend, increased retention and increased loyalty - all pretty important attributes don't you think?

So rather than just engage translation service companies for one-off engagement, many of the interpreter services are now offering ongoing contracts and solutions to enable you to provide continuous translation capabilities for your customers across sales and support functions.
